The program Red Sea 4-Part Complete Reef Care is a simplified version of the classic 7-component system, intended for aquariums without refug. It unites everyone 36 basic and trace elements in 4 bottles, as the dosage is based solely on the consumption of Calcium.

Composition of the 4 parts

• Part 1 (Calcium & Magnesium+): Calcium, magnesium, strontium and barium.
• Part 2 (KH/Alkalinity): Carbonate and bicarbonate buffers for stable pH.
• Part 3 (Iodine & Potassium): Iodine, potassium, brown, bromine and fluorine.
• Part 4 (Iron & Bioactive Elements): Iron, manganese, cobalt, honey and more 18 trace elements.

How the system works?

Because in systems without macroalgae corals consume the elements in a relatively constant ratio, the program is designed that way, that everyone 4 bottles to finish at the same time, if the proportion to calcium is respected.

Dosage proportions:
For everyone 1 ml from Part 1, you have to dose:

• Part 2: 2 ml.
• Part 3: 0.5 ml.
• Part 4: 0.5 ml.

Basic steps for use

1. Testing: Measure Ca levels once a week.
2. Regulation: If the calcium level has fallen, increase the daily dose of Part 1.
3. Automation: When using Red Sea ReefDose 4, the app automatically changes the doses of the other three parts as soon as you adjust the Part 1.
4. Order of addition: If you dose manually, add the parts in numerical order (1, 2, 3, 4) with an interval of at least 10 minutes between them in a strong current area.

Important: The system is not suitable for refugium aquariums, as the algae change the consumption ratio (especially of magnesium and alkalinity), which can lead to a chemical imbalance.

Transition from 7 the component system to 4

The transition from the old 7-component system to the new one 4-Part Complete Reef Care is easy and aims to simplify maintenance, without changing the quality of the water.

Here are the steps, which you should follow for a smooth transition:

1. Preparation for the aquarium

• Align the parameters: Before starting the new program, make sure, that the levels of Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg) and KH are within the recommended limits for your type of aquarium (e.g. 430 ppm Ca и 11.5 dKH for accelerated growth).
• Run out of old stock: You can dose the old supplements (Foundation A, B, C и Trace-Colors), until they finish, before loading the new bottles.

2. Changing the bottles

The new system unites the old ones 7 the element in 4 new bottles:

• Part 1: Replaces Foundation A (Calcium) и Foundation C (Magnesium).
• Part 2: Replaces Foundation B (KH/Alkalinity).
• Part 3: Combines Trace-Colors A (Iodine) и Trace-Colors B (Potassium).
• Part 4: Combiner Trace-Colors C (Iron) и Trace-Colors D (Bioactive elements).

The system comes in three sizes: S- small , suitable for 150 l mixed reef, M-medium, suggestive of 300 l mixed reef and L- Large- 600 liters of mixed reef, enough for approx 3 months (the time indicated is an average, it depends on that, how busy the system itself is)
